Simulation of Brazil’s Wholesale Energy Market
Objective
SCE simulates the algebraic account and settlement rules of Brazil’s wholesale market administrator (Câmara de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica – CCEE). The model results are used in the economic evaluation of companies and in the decisions on investment, contracting, strategies in auctions and others.
SCE can read generation scenarios produced by the hydrothermal dispatch models SDDP, developed by PSR; and NEWAVE, developed by Cepel. The OPTFOLIO and OPTVALUE models, developed by PSR, use the SCE outputs for analyzing contracting strategies and investments in new capacity.
SCE Results
All SCE results are written in CSV files. These files are managed by a graphical interface (GRAF program) that allows the production of Excel files with the desired results.
